It appears that the New York Post has blocked access to its website from iPad users. Instead of showing the normal homepage iPad users are being redirected to a page that says they must download the NY Post app to view content.?
The iPad redirect pages reads:
Thanks for coming! NYPOST.com editorial content is now only accessible on the iPad through the New York Post App. If you are a current New York Post App subscriber, please visit the App Store and download the latest version to access NYPOST.com through the INDEX. If you are not a current New York Post App user and would like to subscribe, please download from App Store. Thank you.
The move to block access from iPad's Safari browser is very surprising and sure to draw negative attention from readers. There is currently no evidence of the New York Post blocking access on any other tablets.?
The New York Post iPad application is a $1.99 download from the iTunes App Store that includes a 30-day introductory period. After the period is over subscriptions start at $6.99 for one-month, $39.99 for six-months and $74.99 for one-year.
